Boosting Guide
Table Tennis Boosted's guide to 'Boosting'
What is Boosting ?
The application of any Table Tennis 'Booster' has a mean of similar effect. 'Boosting' simply enlarges the air pockets therefore, expanding the sponge. Effectively, this then heightens your rubbers performance in the spin, speed and control categories.
How does Booster work ?
'Booster' is an oil like liquid applied to the sponge of your rubber. Some players prefer after glueing and some before, this is up to personal interpretation adherant to the desired affect.
When the 'Booster' is applied, it's absorbed by your rubbers sponge, seeping into its air pockets. As this dries and oxidises, it releases CO₂ expanding the sponges' air pockets ultimately increasing tension within the rubber.
How do I apply said 'Booster' ?
Applying 'Booster' is a simple and easy process which leaves room for personal preference and experimentation. Factors to consider when applying one of our 'Boosters' include rubber thickness, rubber hardness, top sheet stickiness and desired effects.
At Table Tennis Boosted, we would recommend applying two coats of product ensuring you leave 12-24 hours between applications. Then once dried, glue the freshly boosted rubber to the blade.
As previously mentioned, this process differs between players but it's important to consider that with each layer of 'Booster', this increases the softening of the sponge, catapult effect (speed, spin, arc) yet if too much is applied, this can result in damage to the rubber, too much softening of the sponge and a loss of control when playing.
PLEASE NOTE: the ITTF Regualtion states "the maximum combined thickness of rubber and sponge cannot exceed 4mm"
Why should I choose to buy from Table Tennis Boosted?
Our Hiafu range has come directly from the factory to ensure 100% authenticity. Our brand is managed, directed and created by members who are experienced in the Table Tennis field at a highly competitive level.
Although Haifu boosters are traditionally used on Chinese style rubbers, our product is compatitble with other rubber series including 'European' style rubbers and not limited to most popular brands' rubber series. The rubber production is forever evolving creating hybrid rubbers which many would argue that 'Boosting' is essential for. Popular series are getting stiffer and harder aswell as slightly sticky reitterating all the ideal factors for our Haifu product range.
